People buying sacks of salt following rumours

The rumours of price rise of have spread all over the Muktaghacha upazila of Mymensingh, like the whole country. 

When the news is spread, people stormed on grocery shops to buy salt. 

The village people, by groups, moved to the town's wholesale shops and consequently, the salt stored in all the shops was finished immediately. 

The general people are buying extra salt in fear of raising prices. 

Taking this opportunity, some traders are selling salt at extra price.

On all on sudden, a rumour - the price of salt is going up - is reportedly spread across the country on Tuesday morning.

However, the Ministry of Industries has called upon all not to be confused with rumors about the salt crisis.

There is no shortage of salt in the country and over 6.5 lakh metric tonnes of edible salt is stored, the Industries Ministry said.

The Industries Ministry made the urge at a press release issued on Tuesday.

An unholy syndicate is trying to reap benefits by spreading misleading information, it said, requesting all not to get confused in this regard.
